What is the most effective way of developing an outside space
so that it plays a central part in the development
of pupil education and awareness?

For many pupils, over 20 percent of their time at school is spent in their outdoor space.

As such the areas around the school buildings can be incredibly influential in terms of each pupil’s development and growth.

All that is required is the will to turn the surrounding environment into an important educational resource. ….

And that’s where we come in. We’re Grassroots, a team of people who are passionate about creating exciting and inspirational spaces.

We provide a complete service from design through to construction and aftercare. We work with award winning architects on bigger projects or with our own design team for smaller ones. So we are a flexible depending on your needs.

We offer a free consultation service, which includes free conceptual drawings when looking at any space. Once the idea has been adopted, we can explore with you what the possibilities are. These can range from monkey bars to large playgrounds, outdoor classrooms to making unusable spaces accessible.

Nicky Godetz ; head teacher of Cypress: a large, split site primary school in south London, has this to say about us:-

“We have really enjoyed working with Grassroots Play and would highly recommend you introduce yourself to them and begin to share your aspirations and thoughts and see what they can offer.”
