Bring street children into the equation with the
LASCO Maths Challenge.
The annual LASCO Maths Challenge begins on February 3rd 2014 and is open to all Primary and Post Primary schools and Colleges in the UK and abroad.
There are 6 different competition categories available, with questions suitable for children of all abilities between the ages of 7 and 16, samples of which can be found on the website.

Schools can register on www.lascomaths.com and can participate at any stage during the 2 week period for which the competition is open.
To participate, the teacher simply selects the quiz most appropriate to his/her class. The class work together as a team and submit one answer sheet only per class, electronically via the website.

Who is LASCO?
LASCO is the Latin American Street Children Organisation, registered charity number XR27362. The charity raises money to fund projects that provide Education and Healthcare to the impoverished street children of South America.
I just wanted to congratulate you on a fantastic, well organized and fun filled day.
Our year 9 and Year 12 students took part in the challenge and they all really enjoyed it.
This is the first tine we have been involved but it certainly won’t be the last.

Not only does this event give your pupils a positive and pastoral experience within the domain of mathematics, it also gives your school the chance to win a share of our fabulous prize fund – all the details of which can be found on the website.
This is a wholly inclusive event whereby teachers can select the quiz they feel is most appropriate for their pupils in the knowledge that this competition provides a shared learning experience for pupils of all abilities.
