It used to be expensive, but now….

Travelling by air is cheaper than you think

Nothing it seems can stop the constant growth in air traffic. Which is good news if you are looking for an alternative low-cost way of organising a school trip.

For the growth in air traffic has meant four things: lower costs, more capacity for group travel, more flights, and more airports.

So whereas it used to be the case that schools were left with few alternatives to the traditional coach + ferry + coach journey or waiting to see which flights had spaces available at the end of the booking period in order to try to find a low cost booking, now it is cheaper to book sooner rather than later.

This means that you can plan exactly the visit that you want and then find a low-cost flight to fit with that rather than having to build your trip around such flights as have space left.

This approach of choosing your flight and booking it early not only results in a much simpler journey but, when booked via the German Travel Centre, there is a further benefit.

For it also involves one person processing everything from the initial enquiry through to the production of tickets, making this a singularly smooth and stress-free transaction.

Such a way of arranging a school trip both reduces flight costs and cuts travelling time considerably by using air flights to the destination of your choice.

Indeed, given that it is normally possible to fly from an airport near to the school to an airport close to the final destination, such arrangements can add up to three more days spent in the desired destination.

Additionally you have the option of choosing the hotel that is right for you and your students rather than one selected by the tour operator. You can choose the price range, and you can choose a hotel near the airport or within the city or region that is your final destination.

In short, the latest reservation technology enables us to give you the most up-to-date travel options, all the time. We book and issue our own tickets enabling us to keep full control of your booking and ensure your journey meets your needs.

What’s more, as we are ABTA and ATOL holders you can be assured that you and your students are fully protected (as recommended by the Health and Safety Executive for schools) should the airline fail.

Because we have so many locations to and from which we can fly, the best way to explore the possibilities is either to call one of our specialist group reservation advisors on 020 8429 2900 or email us at groups@gtctravelgroup.com with the details of your requirements.

You can also go to our website for more information.

Either way we’ll come back to you with our suggestions and prices. You’ll be surprised how much time can be saved and how low group air fares can be.

Henry V

Arguably one of Shakespeare’s finest History Plays, this one-person adaptation features historical accuracy with much of Shakespeare’s original text. A modern day Chorus takes us back to the dark dangerous days of 1415, when an insulting gift of tennis balls from the headstrong Prince Dauphin of France provokes King Harry of England. These two young men eventually meet in a bloody war that climaxes with the Battle of Agincourt.  The subjects of provocation, invasion and who holds the moral rights to a just war are as relevant today as they were in 1415. This spirited production combines an innovative recipe of one actor and a ‘supporting cast’ of lights, sound, special effects and an evocative and original live music score. The result is 70 minutes edge-of-the-seat excitement.

“A towering, quicksilver show… quite brilliant.” Stratford-upon-Avon Herald “A Henry V to stir the imagination. A truly vivid theatrical experience, comic, ironic and deeply moving. The arrows hiss upwards and you chill inside… a miracle. The battle sequence at Agincourt is a tour de force.” Birmingham Post. “Hennegan’s Henry is an adventure story for today… this will surely exorcise the ghost of schoolroom Shakespeare for good. Theatre at its best. Cry God for Harry, Shakespeare and Nick Hennegan” Birmingham Evening Mail  “A tremendous story… a truly superb theatrical experience – a tour de force” Edinburgh Fringe News
