Following the success of last year’s Science Day, we are now planning our 8th. It will follow a similar format to last time, with lectures, films and displays. Three eminent speakers from Israel, from a variety of backgrounds, will talk about their latest research, all relevant to A Level Biology and, for the first time, Geography.

Dr Adi Jonas-Levi will talk about his work on food biochemistry; Dr Shmulik Yovid about his work on conservation, monitoring and species re-introduction into the wild;
Shlomi Brielle B Sc about live cell imaging and understanding neurodegenerative diseases. There will also be films on groundbreaking medical and environmental innovations.

Some feedback from last year:

“The feedback was very positive. They enjoyed the day and it was very relevant to the subjects they are studying. Look forward to future Science Days.” Elaine

“The speaker about sleep was excellent, relevant and pitched at the right level for our Y12 and Y13 students”. Elyse

“The first two lectures were really good, especially the sleep deprivation one. The slides were understandable and pitched at the right level. It is a really valuable experience to experience any lectures of any type and I know the students benefitted from this.” Maroulla

“We all enjoyed the day and learnt a lot – thank you. The second speaker particularly was very good and clearly knew how to keep the younger students engaged.” Susan

“Thank you for organising the day. It was very well organised and my students got a lot out of the presentations and the speakers. Keep the good work going. Do let me know of any similar event s that you organise in the future. Thank you again.” Sharita
